Established in 1955, the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS), formerly known as the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), and the Monterey Institute of Foreign Studies (MIFS), located in Monterey, California, is a graduate institute and satellite campus of Middlebury College. For brevity, it is often referred to as simply the Monterey Institute.
